** Please note: The town of Wellesley is hosting a parade beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a concert beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18. Traffic into Wellesley Center will be blocked at various time during this time slot. When arriving at Olin and/or departing Olin after the commencement ceremony and subsequent events please avoid Rt 16 and Rt 135 west and pursue alternate routes.
Please check the Commencement website for additional information. Also, detailed directions to campus can be found on Olin's main page under "Campus."
Graduating seniors, please don't forget to notify senders directly of your future address. The list includes family and friends, banks and credit card companies, insurance and state registries, magazine and newspaper subscriptions, etc. You can use your current mail received as a reminder of whom to notify. This should allow seamless delivery of your mail to your new location. You do not have to fill out a change of address form with the Post Office. Please provide Olin's Mail Room with one sheet of address labels. Please direct any questions to mailservices@olin.edu.

Don’t miss your chance to provide input on the new Master Plan for the Campus. If you missed out on the first master Campus planning sessions then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for! The sessions will be held on June 2 and 3 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Milas Hall Computer Lab. Faculty are invited on June 2 and staff on June 3. The student sessions generated a lot of information and we are looking forward to adding to our data. Please contact Joanne Kossuth with questions.

Beautiful bouquets and roses will be available for purchase from 1:30-3:00 pm before the 2008 Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 18 at a designated table outside of the ceremony tent. Bouquets are $20; roses will be sold by the stem and accompanied by baby’s breath and greenery. Proceeds will benefit the Class of 2009. Please contact Bryn Hollen if you have any questions.
Remember to check the Commencement website after the event for information on the graduates, photos and more.
Oh my, has the semester flown by, and it's time to say goodbye! But before your student leaves Olin for the summer, we have something to share to help you prepare. The Office of Student Life has sent the students a list of departure notes including information on keys, housekeeping and damage, information technology, summer storage and parking, and more. All students must vacate the dorms by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 19. On Commencement Day (Sunday, May 18), no resident will be allowed to move out of their residence hall from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. This period will eliminate any disturbances to the Olin College Commencement ceremony. The activity times can be found on the Commencement website. Once the Commencement ceremony has ended, East Drive and Student B Lot will be open to students who wish to move out. Should you have any questions about move out, please feel free to contact the Campus Services at 781-292-2313.
An opening has become available for representation of the class of 2009. Parents of 2009 (P’09s), please let us know if you are interested. To aid in the selection process, it would be most helpful if you could email a brief bio no later than this Monday, May 19. It will help give us background on who we are working with and what interests they have in Olin's PAB. Please include a few sentences on your background (career, experience, interest in the PAB, etc.). A resume is not necessary. Members are selected by Charlie Nolan, VP of External Relations and Enrollment, at the recommendation of Krissy Raposa, Assistant Director of Parent and Alumni Relations, and the PAB.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Krissy. We look forward to hearing from you!
Join the Office of Parent and Alumni Relations (PAR) in thanking our graduation P'08 members: Thomas Hayden, Terry LeMoncheck, Joe Scholl and Marlene Veldwisch. Their dedication, support and volunteerism as both parents and PAB members is greatly appreciated. Alumni parents continue to be a significant part of the Olin Family. Also join PAR in welcoming two new members of the Parent Advisory Board (PAB), David Lintz and Janet Swift. David is the father of Michael Lintz, both from Needham, MA. Janet is the mother of Kate Swift-Spong, both from Oak Ridge, TN. They join Elizabeth Firstenberg and John Harley in representing parents of the class of 2011. Their two-year terms will begin on June 1. More information on these and other PAB members can be found once logged onto the Parent Blackboard after the new term or visiting the Parent website. We appreciate the enthusiastic response and hope those who were not selected will remain interested in volunteer opportunities with Olin parent initiatives.

The Office of Parent & Alumni Relations and the Office of Post Graduate Planning would like to thank all those involved in ensuring the success of last week's Southwestern Senior Send-off. Thirty-two seniors were joined by Olin staff members Charlie Nolan, Tom Krimmel, Sally Phelps, Deb Manzelli, and Krissy Raposa. Once everyone was seated, Sally reviewed the PGP resources available to alumni, Krissy followed with information regarding Alumni Relations. Tom then reviewed the importance of giving and impressive pledge participation rates. Krissy concluded the event by reviewing the Alumni Association and reps. Tiana Veldwisch and Anthony Roldan were officially appointed Class 2008 reps; they ran unopposed but spoke briefly to their peers regarding their qualifications. Congrats Tiana and Anthony!

From April 25-27 at the University of Wisconsin, Madison Olin's HPV team competed for the second consecutive year in the 2008 Human Powered Vehicle Competition East event. The team competed in the single rider category and secured sixth place overall, with the following placements in three other categories: Design Event – 7th Place;

Additionally, the team was award the “Rollin’ Olin” Award for Best Crash - during the team’s first run in the Sprint Event, Gavin Boggs ‘09 pulled the brakes a little too quickly at the end of the course. This sent him into an impressive rolling crash at 31 mi/hr that looked much worse than it was. Luckily, someone managed to catch it on video, click here to see the you tube video. Olin's HPV team includes Gavin Boggs (leader) ‘09, Giulia Fanti (leader) ‘10, Carl Herrmann ‘09, Jona Raphael ‘09, Allison Weis ‘09, Casey Canfield ‘10, Becky Belisle ‘10, David Stamp ‘10, Pam Darvirris ‘10, David Gardner ‘11, Lorraine Weis ‘11, Alex Niswander ‘11, Jay Gorasia ‘11, Jacob Izraelevitz ‘11, and Jacob Felser ‘11.
