SERV Competition Wrap-Up
Between March 26 and April 6, Olin's community service umbrella organization, SERV, held a community service competition among the classes, staff, and faculty. For two weeks, Olin community members recorded their community service time in various activities, with the group contributing the most hours being declared the victor. This year, participants recorded over 280 total hours of work to benefit others. With 26% participation, the Class of 2007 contributed 107.5 of those hours, and have therefore been declared the winners of the 2007 Comunity Service Competition. Contact Leslie Velez with questions or for more information.

Homegrown Coffeehouse
Thirty years may not seem like such a long time in the life of a human being, a tree or a folk song. But in the fickle world of modern music, 30 years is a very long time. So how have David Tamulevich and Michael Hough done it? In a word, "audience." Everything Mustard's Retreat does on a stage is aimed at pleasing, moving and engaging their audience. Whether singing their own gentle love songs and vivid ballads, telling tall tales or offering treasures from America's vast traditional song bag, a Mustard's Retreat show always feels like it's designed for the people who have come to see them that day, in that coffeehouse. MUSTARD’S RETREAT at the Homegrown Coffeehouse, Saturday, April 14, at 8:00 pm.

The Homegrown Coffeehouse is located at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, at the corner of Great Plain and Dedham Avenue in Needham center. There is free parking and wheelchair access. Admission is $15.00 / $12.00  students and seniors to benefit the Church. For more information, call (781) 444-7478. Visit us at www.uuneedham.org/Coffeehouse  for latest concert updates and advance tickets.

On April 23, Babson will welcome Laura Glassner Otting in the Needham-Wellesley Room of Olin Hall to discuss general opportunities in the nonprofit sector and specific tips for navigating the nonprofit job search process. Otting has years of experience in nonprofit political and education work, and looks forward to sharing what she has learned. The session will occur from 6:00-8:00 pm, with check-in starting at 5:30. Please RSVP or direct any questions to sfeintuck@babson.edu.

    Trivia
In the last issue we asked "Who was the first company/sponsor to fully sign on for an Olin SCOPE project?" It turns out that my original information was in error, and the correct answer was given the week before. Mr. Stephen Longfield was the first to respond with the correct answer of Pepsi.

    Trivia buffs, do you know.....

    Q:
When was the AHS Capstone first offered, and what was one of the fields studied?

A: First person to correctly respond to Andrew Bouchard receives a prize.
