Beginning Monday, November 27th, thru Saturday, December 16th, Public Safety will be sponsoring the annual Toys for Tots program at Babson and Olin Colleges to provide toys to underprivileged children. The response to this program has grown dramatically over the past few years and last year's response was remarkable! We invite you to join us again this year to make the holidays very special for a child who would normally not have the joys of receiving holiday presents.
Toys are needed for children of all ages, however please do not donate stuffed animals as they are not accepted by the U.S. Marines. Toys must be new and in the original packaging.
Once again, Chief John Jackson invites you to trade a parking ticket for a toy. If you have received a parking ticket for a violation, other than parking in a Handicap Space or a Fire Lane, between the dates of November 13th and December 16th, 2006 the ticket will be voided when you present a new, unwrapped toy with a value of at least half of the parking fine. Please note that during this period only one ticket, per person will be invalidated upon the donation of a toy.
Many people do not realize that the United Parcel Service (UPS) donates their trucks to pick up the toys from drop off locations. Last year UPS sent two trucks to Babson to transport toys to the U.S. Marine Reserves for distribution. Please help us in our efforts to make this a great holiday season for children in need. Please go to our website and click the link for information on our drop off locations. We will be posting pictures of the collection from time to time. Thank you again from all of us at Public Safety.
The following candidates for the postition of Assistant Professor of Chemistry will be visiting Olin. All are encouraged to attend and provide feedback, seminars will take place in AC 113.

Olin's inaugural soccer season came to end with a heartbreaking 3-0 loss in the BSSC finals last weekend despite outshooting their opponents. After playing seven home games and practicing twice a week, Olin went charging into the finals winning 5-1 in the quarter-finals, and 6-1 in the semi-finals. Highlights from the final match included several shots on goal by Matt Wooten, Marco Morales, Bennett Chabot, and Adam Bry and a superb defensive effort by Yrinee Michaelidis, Eugene Kozlenko, Brittany Devlin, and Brad Westgate. Matt Tesch logged in another solid performance making several key saves and additional support on the field came from Giulia Fanti, Molly McCormack, Mark Penner, Joe Kendall, Raghu Rangan, Keoni Mahelona, and Ana Karimi.
The Olin soccer team this fall reinforced the College's athletic team philosophy that was started by the Ultimate Frisbee team (The Flying Franks) last spring by playing a co-ed team that was coached by Olin faculty and staff. Olin looks forward to another successful season next fall. Interested players (including faculty, staff, and alumni) should contact coaches Nick Tatar, John Geddes, and Ozgur Eris, or team captain Bennett Chabot. The team would also like give a special thank you to the fans, especially those that made it to the finals on the first day of Thanksgiving Break!
We'd also like to thank the rest of the Olin squad for a great season: Becky Belisle, Matt Colyer, Dan Foran, Jared Frey, Mary Germino, Helen Lewis-Rzeszutek, Margaret McCahon, Aisaku Pradhan, Garrett Rodriguez, Nina Sawhney, Tal Schwartz, Mike Siripong, Krystin Stafford, Hermes Taylor-Weiner, Derek Thurmer, Ashley Walker, James Whong, and Justin Wong.
On Sunday, November 26th, Gregory Niccolo Ware (son of David Ware) was born, weighing in at 6 lbs-4 oz and measuring 18 inches long. All are healthy and happy!
