SAVE THE DATE: SERV Auction - November 27th!
The SERV auction is happening right after Thanksgiving - the silent auction will begin at noon on November 27th and run until midnight on December 1st with the live auction following on December 1st from 12:00-1:00 p.m. A packet of all donations can be found here.

All the money will go directly to worthwhile charities. Half the money will go to the Chernobyl Children Project, an organization that works to bring healthcare to Russian children affected by Chernobyl and to bring children to Boston to give them hope, good food, clean water, and superb healthcare. Our own Zhenya works with this group as a translator. Your donations can help provide children's hospitals in Russia with needed medical supplies. The recipient of the other half of the money will be determined by you, the Olin community. SERV has chosen three wonderful charities for you to vote upon: The World Wildlife Fund, Heifer International, and Partners In Health. More details will arrive in your mailboxes about these charities and the voting process in the near future.

BORDERLINKS RAFFLE -- Win a Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera
Olin-Borderlinks is going to Mexico on an educational-immersion trip to study immigration issues. You can help... and have a chance to win a Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera & other fabulous prizes. Tickets are $20. Please contact Jessie or David to purchase tickets.

Immigration over the US/Mexico border is a pressing issue of the day, which touches such wide-ranging areas as US-Mexico Relations ~ Labor Conditions ~ Human Rights ~ Education policy (both primary and higher) ~ Free Trade ~ Poverty ~ Economic Structures ~ International Politics ~ As part of our co-curricular, we have been learning about immigration this semester, and we plan to visit the US/Mexico border over winter break to see and learn first-hand about the issues from the people directly affected: immigrants, border-patrol agents, social services workers, etc.

While we will not be building anything tangible while we are there, we hope to learn and be changed by our experience, which will lead to service upon our return. Please support us by making a donation, buying a raffle ticket or hiring us for babysitting, yardwork, tutoring, etc.
