A reminder that the Development Office is partnering with the Offices of Parent and Alumni Relations, External Relations and the Parent Advisory Board (PAB) to offer a new event as part of Family Weekend. On October 14th, there will be a silent auction of artwork as part of a reception. The reception will be held in the Academic Center and we would love for the artwork to reflect the talents of Olin students, faculty and staff. The first two hours of the reception will be for Family Weekend participants only (4:00-6:00 p.m.) and the following two hours (6:00-8:00 p.m.) will include invitees from the communities of Dedham, Needham and Wellesley. There are a number of ways you can help:
- Donate a piece of artwork that you have created (we regret that at the present time we cannot accept video submissions but digital photography, works in oil, watercolors, crayon, charcoal, pencil and sculptured materials are all acceptable);
- Distribute invitations to your friends in the Dedham, Needham Wellesley area;
- Volunteer to help with the event itself (registration, set up of the artwork, mingling, etc.);
- Write about the event for use in Olin and other publications;
- Solicit potential sponsors who can advertise in the program;
- Attend the event! RSVP by October 6.
We look forward to your joining us in making this inaugural Artwork in Autumn event a success! If you are interested in donating artwork or otherwise participating in the event please email development@olin.edu.

After evaluating the services and pricing from six printing vendors, Olin is happy to announce that it will be using Alpha Graphics in Waltham for business card and stationary needs. Alpha Graphics is creating a website where employees can order items on line. End users will choose a template, enter their personal information, see a proof of the item, be able to edit if necessary, choose a quantity and then place an order. They will collect orders until 5:00 p.m. every Thursday, print them on Friday and deliver them on the following Wednesday. Alpha Graphics will also be able to handle peripheral jobs that may surface. These expenses will be charged to individual budgets, as they are now, not a central printing budget. The ordering website is scheduled to go live in early October. We will announce when it is available and how to use it. Questions and comments can be directed to scott.slaboden@olin.edu.
DormItem is a licensed Babson student business that has been growing quickly in the greater Boston area. Through the site

In order to meet the increased needs for web content at Olin, a group is forming to develop a certification program so that websites are created in a consistent and manageable manner. The first meeting is currently being scheduled. For more information on the program please contact Javier Zapanta (x2471).
