News You Can UsE This is a pilot program that will include 360 Feedback Surveys for all employees listed in the areas above. Some community members will receive an email from Hilary Ziven that includes a link to a 360 online survey requesting feedback on employees. When you receive the email please click on the link provided to begin the survey. (Note if you are not comfortable providing feedback for the employee requested you may opt out of the survey once you click on the link provided.) In general the survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. Hilary Ziven has worked with Olin College on a number of initiatives through the President's Office and the Office of Innovation and Research. Most of you know that Hillary has helped Olin with the annual organizational health survey. The college has requested her assistance with the 360 feedback process, as it very common that an outside consultant aids an organization with implementing and ensuring privacy of the survey and results. A special THANK YOU to all who provided feedback for the Administration and Finance employees – 171 individuals were asked to fill out surveys and 136 completed surveys with a one week turnaround (an 80% response rate). Your assistance in this valuable review process is important. Please contact Pat Berardi with any questions or concerns. Spring Expo is Coming!

Articles of Interest “College Dorms are a Study in Comfort,” By Emily Shartin, Boston Globe, May 4, 2005 “Olin Looks to Students for Building's Needs,” By Franceen Shaughnessy, Needham Times, May 5, 2005 Trivia In the last issue we asked how old Franklin W. Olin was when he received his first “big break” in industry. According to The First 50 Years, F.W. Olin was 28 when his cousin offered him the job of supervising the construction of a New Jersey powder mill. Unfortunately no one guessed 28 so the prize will go unclaimed. Olin trivia buffs do you know... Q: What state is the home state of most Olin students? A: First person to correctly respond to Jennifer Thomas receives a prize.
