The Link: Olin’s Campus-Wide E-Bulletin                             3.19.04
Taking a look outside your window it is hard to believe that spring begins tomorrow. In typical New England fashion, the winter weather refuses to move out so spring can move in. While we wait for the snow to melt and flowers to blossom, let's spring into campus news with this edition of The Link

Please send information to communication@olin.edu for inclusion in the next issue of The Link, which will be distributed in two weeks (April 2).

Princeton Review to Recognize Olin as one of the Best 357 Colleges
Olin was recently selected by the Princeton Review as one of the newest additions to its Best Colleges series. Olin will be listed in the Princeton Review's Best 357 Colleges, which will be published in August 2004. In addition to a listing among the Best 357 Colleges, Olin will be featured as one of the eight schools receiving The Princeton Review's “Best” designation for the first time.

The Princeton Review based its final recommendations on the information each school provided in its one- to two-page resume and the opinion data derived from Olin students who responded to the group's survey.

Advising families and staff will attend small conversations at the following times:

  • 11:15 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
  • 1:30 – 2:35 p.m.
  • 2:00 – 3:05 p.m.
  • 2:45 – 3:50 p.m.
  • 3:15 – 4:20 p.m.
The Big Conversations committee is pleased to offer a free lunch to all faculty and staff during regular dining hall hours. A social gathering will take place from 3:45-5:00 p.m. in the dining hall.

Staff members who would like to attend the small conversations are invited to contact Deena Behar. Please send Deena the timeslots that will work best with your schedule.

New Patio Furniture and Academic Center Seating
As the weather turns warmer, eventually, please feel free to enjoy outdoor dining with our newly installed patio furniture. Enjoy the warm breeze at one of seven tables sporting forty new shiny chrome seats, located on the patio which is through the double glass doors on the mezzanine level of the Dining Hall. For the enjoyment of all, please remember to leave the area clean and return all trays and dishes on your way out. In addition, you will notice new groupings of cushioned seating in the public areas in the Academic Center. These make great spots for small group meetings or a nice place to cuddle up with a book. Students will recognize this furniture, since it was recently moved when new lounge furniture was installed in West Hall.
